Cioks DC7 is one of the thinnest and most flexible power supply for powering effect pedals. The groundbreaking DC7 has a one-inch (25,4mm) profile and weighs 1.1 pound (500 grams) thanks to the pure 2-stage switch-mode technology inside.

The DC7 puts out a maximum of 48W from its 9 outlets and allows the user to connect multiple high-current effects such as devices from Effectrode and Eventide without noise of any kind. It features 7 isolated DC-outlets for effect pedals each with four selectable voltages.

Each of the outlets can put out 6W which corresponds to 660mA of current at 9V. Additionally the DC7 has also a 5V USB outlet and an auxiliary 24V outlet. The DC7 is expandable with CIOKS 4 and CIOKS 8 as well as with other compatible power supplies powered with 24V DC for even more isolated outlets and even more flexibility.

CIOKS

The story started in Copenhagen, Denmark in November 1991 when Poul Ciok turned 18 and formally founded the company. Having been a dedicated guitar player and an electronics enthusiast for years prior to this, Poul had trouble finding a proper way to power his growing pedal collection and this set him on the course we know today.

Continuing growth

The company initially offered the Baby power supply. As digital effects pedals gained popularity, the Big John and Double Jack power supplies were introduced in 1995. The company continued to grow, and in 2004 a sister company was established in Poland to handle manufacturing and development. The Professional Range was introduced in 2010, featuring toroidal transformers and all-metal enclosures, while the LINK Range allowed users to power multiple power supplies from a single mains cord.

Expanding product range

In 2017, the Future Power Generation range was developed with switch-mode power supplies, designed by Mads Peter Frium, and in 2018, the first three products were shown at the NAMM show. CIOKS has continued to expand its product range with the release of the C4e, C8e, Superpower Bundle, SOL power supply, and CRUX in recent years.
