Carl-Martin Ampster is a true tube overdrive, based on a Marshall-style preamp with switchable speaker simulation.

The Ampster is powered by a single tube (12AX7) and features a loudspeaker simulator that can complement or even replace your amplifier. It has a fully analog circuit with regular amplifier controls. In addition, it has a mute switch, a speaker selector switch and a voicing switch.

This pedal goes from “Big round” clean to “British Overdrive” sounds at higher gain-settings. It has a XLR DI Output for recording or connecting straight to the PA. The Ampster is designed to work with overdrive & boost pedals. It has a built-in FX loop for integrating effect-devices or providing pure preamp-signal without cab-sim (e.g., to feed an external IR loader).

Carl Martin is produced by East Sound Research and was founded in 1990 as a professional PA sound rental company. Shortly after, they began producing custom made audio equipment.
