Carl Martin Surf Trem is a modern face-lifted version of the vintage series Tremovibe, in a compact and pedalboard-friendly format. We have given the Vintage Series a face lift!

A new, fresh, anodized pedal designed for a smaller pedal board footprint, with all the same great tones. Here are the first in the series: Remember the great tremolo tones of the 50’s and 60’s? The ‘Surf Trem’ gets its’ trem circuit from the CM Tremovibe.

With just a ‘speed’ and ‘depth’ control (just like our old tube amp) those classic tones are easy to achieve. The retro heavy diecast case, cool colour and heavy duty bypass switch, make the ‘Surf Trem’ a must have in every pedal box.

Carl Martin is produced by East Sound Research and was founded in 1990 as a professional PA sound rental company. Shortly after, they began producing custom made audio equipment.

Demanding professionals

Their goal from the very beginning was to develop and produce products for the demanding professional musician, with superior sound quality and features not seen in other guitar effect pedals. As a result, the Hot Drive’n Boost, was introduced in 1993.

High quality standard

Due to extensive knowledge of the professional music industry, and contacts with a wide range of demanding musicians, Carl Martin have maintained a very high quality standard and has a range of 44 high quality guitar and bass effect pedals, and more to come in the future. In 2005 they released the first handmade, point-to-point tube amplifier... the Custom Shop 50. Each year they strive to improve their existing pedals and they look for new products to offer pros and aspiring musicians
