Cioks Stack Flex Type 4 gives you the sum of voltages of the two outlets from your Cioks power supply. This cable has a Type 4 connection (2.5mm/centre positive) and a length of 50cm.

If you have one of the older EHX pedals that need 24V you can use the type 4 Stack Flex with the green DC plug. To get 24V use two isolated outlets in 12V setting. To power one of the three 40V EHX pedals you should use the 18/24 outlet on the CIOKOLATE in 24V setting and the adjustable 4-15V outlet 1 in max. setting at 15V. The pedal will get 39V which is pretty close to the 40V.

Please note that the Series adapter Flex makes a series connection of the two outlets used. These two outlets must be isolated from each other. You get the sum of voltages (V) and not the current (mA). If you use it with two 9V outlets with a 100mA rating each you’ll get 18V and still a max. current of 100mA. If you use it with two 9V outlets with 200mA each you’ll get 18V and max. 200mA. If you use it with two outlets rated to max. 200mA set to 12V you’ll get 24V and still max. 200mA.

BE CAREFUL when using Series adapter Flex. There is a risk of damaging one of your 9V pedals by powering it with too high a voltage. Always check the specifications of the pedal.

CIOKS

The story started in Copenhagen, Denmark in November 1991 when Poul Ciok turned 18 and formally founded the company. Having been a dedicated guitar player and an electronics enthusiast for years prior to this, Poul had trouble finding a proper way to power his growing pedal collection and this set him on the course we know today.

Continuing growth

The company initially offered the Baby power supply. As digital effects pedals gained popularity, the Big John and Double Jack power supplies were introduced in 1995. The company continued to grow, and in 2004 a sister company was established in Poland to handle manufacturing and development. The Professional Range was introduced in 2010, featuring toroidal transformers and all-metal enclosures, while the LINK Range allowed users to power multiple power supplies from a single mains cord.

Expanding product range

In 2017, the Future Power Generation range was developed with switch-mode power supplies, designed by Mads Peter Frium, and in 2018, the first three products were shown at the NAMM show. CIOKS has continued to expand its product range with the release of the C4e, C8e, Superpower Bundle, SOL power supply, and CRUX in recent years.
