Free The Tone Fire Mist FM-1V is a low gain overdrive pedal with loads of headroom and volume which can also be used as a clean boost.
This pedal is developed in a search for extended dynamic range, brilliant overtones, long sustain and a fat tone. In order to realize all of these, various electronic circuits and the best quality materials are used. After a few years and many prototypes, the String Slinger was born.
This pedal renders edgy, traditional British Rock sound with outstanding response. The instant you play through the Fire Mist, you will understand the true meaning of “Amp-like.”
This pedal has a lot of headroom and volume. With the drive at zero you can get a good clean boost, with a tight bottom end and nice mids. This works well with an amp on the edge of breakup. Backing down the level and then turning up the drive, there’s definitely plenty available but even with the drive at maximum there’s still good note definition when playing chords and/or rhythm stuff.
Backing off the guitar volume, it cleans up really well which works well for players who get most of the tonal variations by using the guitar’s volume control. The pedal is powered by a standard 9 volts power supply (not included).
