ThorpyFX Electric Lightning

ThorpyFX Electric Lightning is a tube overdrive and boost pedal with a 3-bands EQ, a real preamp valve  and ideal for players with a dynamic playing style.

The pedal has two sides: a complex valve overdrive with 3 band Eq and a high headroom super clean boost on the right. The pedal is designed so that the boost runs into the valve overdrive side. This arrangement yields three distinct tonal variations ranging from clean boost all the way through to full and fat saturation. The pedal is designed to clean up impeccably from your volume control and as such it is ideal for dynamic players who like to constantly adjust their playing style.

The pedal is easy to use with Volume en Gain knobs. The level of drive available goes from lightly crispy through to heavier sounds is available here. The 3-band EQ has Bass, Mids and Treble knobs. The Boost control gives you control to boost or attenuate your signal, use it on its own as part of the boost side of the pedal or when stacked into the drive it can really make the pedal sing with complex harmonics and layered overdrive.

The pedal is designed to work at voltages of 12V DC (power supply is included). On power up, the inrush current can be as high as 700mA settling to 280-300mA during use. This should be provided from the supplied centre negative power supply. Do not attempt to use this pedal with other voltages or polarities, the pedal can at best just not start up (limp mode) or at worst you can damage the sensitive internal electrics. Please be aware it takes a short period of time at first power up for the valve to heat to optimum level and begin working.
